Obama's Army?
Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 01:11PM I have been reading about the three special elections Democrats have won recently. This stunning upset is supposed to be a harbinger of things to come in November. The GOP is in trouble – so the story goes.
So I looked up the positions of the three Democrat superstars, Rep. Don Cazayoux, Rep. Travis Childers, and Rep. Bill Foster. What could be their secret to winning elections in Republican districts?
Here is what is found on Cazayoux’s web site:
Democrat Congressman Don Cazayoux - Loiusiana
TAX CUTS AND BALANCING THE BUDGET
Spending in Washington is out of control and Republicans are no longer the fiscal conservatives they claim to be. In less than a decade, they have taken us from a strong and stable economy to one in which more families are working harder for less money.
I believe in a balanced budget and I will support the pay-go polices that the Congress enacted last year. I hope to join a coalition knows as the Blue Dog Democrats, a coalition of fiscal conservative Democrats committed to paying down the debt and passing sound economic policies.
I support tax cuts that make sense for working families and small businesses – not tax breaks for huge corporations and millionaires that we end up paying for. I voted for millions in tax relief in the Louisiana legislature and will continue to support tax cuts for middle class families who are struggling to make ends meet and save for their futures.
IMMIGRATION
I am strongly against amnesty for illegal immigrants. America is a nation of immigrants, but we also are a nation of laws. In Congress, I will fight to secure our borders and work to crack down on employers who knowingly hire illegal workers.ABORTION
I am pro-life. This is a position that my wife and I share and its rooted in my faith. In the legislature, I supported one of the strongest pro-life laws in the country and in Congress, I will continue my work to protect the unborn.
2nd Amendment RightsI strongly support the Second Amendment - it is a fundamental part of our Constitution. I own guns and hunt and believe we need to protect the gun ownership rights of law-abiding citizens. I am very proud to have an A rating from the NRA.
CRIME
As a prosecutor, I saw the dangers our families face first hand. That's why I made cracking down on sexual predators and other violent criminals a cornerstone of my work in the legislature. I am proud of my efforts to pass the Adam Walsh Act, and other measures that have given law enforcement the tools they need to keep our kids safe.
Democrat Congressman Travis Childers – Mississippi
The web site for Rep. Childers is about what you will find at the Republican Main Street Program web site, bla, bla, bla.
But…
The candidate describes himself as pro-life, pro-business and pro-guns. His big issue is the economy, and he pledges to do everything possible in Congress to provide incentives for small-business people.
He is against same sex marriage although it is not mentioned on his site. You have to dig to find this out.
Democrat Congressman Bill Foster – Illinois
I Checked this guy’s web site for info on Abortion, guns, and homosexual marriage but found nothing. I searched Google as well. No luck.
This guy is divorced, went to Harvard, is a scientist, and should be able to answer simple questions about his major positions. I thought maybe his congressional staff would know.
Apparently not right now.
Ed,
Thanks for contacting us. As you are aware, we have not been here long, and our priority right now is taking care of constituent needs and local press in Illinois. I will try to get you the information you asked for, but I will warn you that it may take me some time to get to this request.
Thanks for your patience!
Best,
Shannon

Both major parties are worthless right now. Vote independent!
Elections Errors.
Saw a news item from the Union Leader
indicating that the NH legislature found fit
to ignore the voters/candidates of NH by
passing new recount laws which will make it
harder to have recounts performed.
As you know the recent presidential primary
recount provided raw data indicating that
both machine count process and hand count
process are prone to unacceptable error
rates.
Instead of making recount request harder, the
legislature should have implemented a 100%
hand count of all ballots called a
VERIFICATION CCOUNT.
Contact me for more detail.
Thanks and Good Luck
