Denounces budget plan that does little to turn back Washington, D.C.’s culture of spending
(GREENLAND, NH) – Republican State Representative and First District candidate for Congress Pam Tucker today released the following statement:
“Republicans in Congress need to go back to the drawing board with their budget plan. This budget is only shades of gray better than President Obama’s own plan. Both plans perpetuate an unsustainable, liberal culture of spending for years to come and ignore our mounting debt crisis.
“I support the House Freedom Caucus’ effort to hold Republicans’ feet to the fire by demanding a conservative, reform-oriented budget that fundamentally changes Washington.
Passing a budget that spends only a little less than President Obama proposes is politically easy. Politicians don’t want to ‘rock the boat,’ particularly in an election year. The American people deserve better.
If I am privileged enough to be elected to Congress by the people of New Hampshire’s First Congressional District, voters can rest assured that I will make the tough decisions and not pledge my allegiance to party leadership, any particular faction of Congress, or any special interest group. I will be a committed advocate for change and act in the interest of New Hampshire voters.”
