NetRight Daily: Unions, Jobs and The Truth

ObamaCare: How the Unions are "Getting Well":  It's already being called the "Second Louisiana Purchase," but the sad truth is that a controversial payoff to U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu's home state of Louisiana is among the smallest of the thinly-disguised bribes and kickbacks that are being offered in Washington D.C. to secure passage of President Barack Obama's socialized medicine proposal.

What is Jarrett Hiding?:  White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett argued Thursday there was no need for Social Secretary Desiree Rogers to testify before a congressional committee investigating the security breach at last week's state dinner, explaining: "We think we've answered the questions fully."

Our First Purple President:  Journalists have spent countless hours writing and discussing how remarkable it is that a predominately white America has elected a black president. It is remarkable that a man born of a white mother would consider himself the first black president. However, based upon the actions of the Obama administration since January 20th, the more remarkable and less publicized story is how the American public really elected a purple president.

Finally, an End to the Huck-sterism:  Here's some free advice for former presidential candidate Mike "Get Out of Jail Free" Huckabee: get yourself a lengthy contract extension at Fox News as soon as you possibly can – because your chances of getting elected to anything other than Podunk Dog Catcher just got reduced to somewhere between of zip and zilch.

NetRight Daily: Gate Crashers Mystery Grows

Senate Should Return Home:  When members of Congress returned home for the August recess just a few short months ago, it is said that they had walked into a political buzz saw of opposition to the proposed $2.1 trillion "public option." As the summer roiled on, Americans young and old proceeded to town hall meetings nationwide, giving their Representatives and Senators quite an earful.

Gate Crashers Mystery Grows:  The mystery surrounding the White House "gate crashers" continues to grow – and with it so do doubts as to what really happened before, during, and since the unsettling episode. One thing is certain, however: the full truth has not yet been told. And, in fact, the "misstatements" continue to multiply.

HUD Must Cut Off Acorn:  More than a month ago, Congress passed a bill designed to protect taxpayers from funding the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now. The left-wing activist group, which has received at least $53 million in government funds since 1994, is notorious for submitting fraudulent voter registrations and for allegedly commingling the finances of its nonprofit and political arms. More recently, a series of undercover videotapes caught ACORN employees abetting fraud and underage sex-trafficking.

NetRight Daily: Today's Top News on NRN

The Tangled Web of Climate-Gate:  As the Climategate scandal continues to unfold, serious questions have arisen as to whether it will ever be possible to confirm how broadly the University of East Anglia's Climatic Research Unit (CRU) manipulated data upon which the "man-made" global warming "consensus" is based.

Voinovich Places Hold on DHS Appointee:  Senator George Voinovich (D-OH) has placed a hold on Mr. Rafael Borras, the nominee for the Undersecretary of Management at the Depart of Homeland Security. In his letter, Mr. Voinovich cites gross mismanagement inside of DHS as the main reason for Mr. Borras to be disqualified from the appointment. Voinovich wrote that Borras "does not meet the qualification or have the experience necessary to meet those challenges", that would be needed to clean up the department.

Appointment Watch:  This week's Obama Appointment Watch looks at James Wynn and Clifford Stanley.

Exceptionally Unexceptional:  At the NATO summit back in April, President Obama was asked if he subscribed to the "school of American exceptionalism that sees America as uniquely qualified to lead the world."

NetRight Daily: Climate-Gate, SEIU, Geithner and Honduras

Climate-Gate Emails Release by Whistleblower:  After reams of information were posted on a Russian server detailing the inner workings at the highest -- and highest-compensated -- levels of what's called "climate science," many of us in the "skeptic" community were reminded of one phrase: "Told you so." (H/T Washington Examiner)

Geithner Must Go!:  Last week, two members of Congress finally stood up for Main Street over the K Street/Big Government lobbyist cabal. Congressman Kevin Brady (R-TX) and Congressman Michael Burgess (R-TX), in a congressional hearing, called for the resignation of former New York Fed Chair, and now Treasury Secretary, Timothy Geithner.

Honduras for Hondurans:  From Rodrigo Cantero of Honduras: Yesterday we had our most important date with destiny. And Honduras won!

Czar of Lies:  As the Climategate scandal unfolds and the manipulation and suppression of data disproving "man-made" global warming becomes more widely known, the fallout also continues to unfold as the Copenhagen Climate Summit prepares to promulgate another global treaty curbing carbon, energy-based emissions in the industrialized world.

NetRight Daily: ClimateGate, Unemployment and ACORN

ClimateGate:  As world leaders prepare to meet in Denmark next month to discuss the implementation of the Copenhagen Protocol (the continuation of the Kyoto Protocol designed to cap carbon emissions in industrialized nations) one topic certain to be the buzz amongst attendees--at least unofficially--will be the growing "Climategate" scandal that currently rocking the United Kingdom.

Double-Digit Sobriety:  Earlier this month it was announced the unemployment rate hit 10.2 percent, reaching double-digits for the first time in 26 years. Though the rate had been expected to top 10 percent for some time due to our anemic economic recovery – and despite billions of dollars in stimulus money – the stark reality of having an unemployment rate usually associated with the socialist regimes of Europe still smacked casual observers in the face.

ACORN Dumped Sensitive Documents as Probe Began:  After ACORN staff left for the day, he says, he searched the trash bin and discovered more than 20,000 documents he believes point to illicit relationships between ACORN and a bank and a labor union — as well as confidential information that could put thousands at risk for identity theft.

Appointment Watch - Keinitz and Garrett:  The mainstream media continue to ignore President Obama's appointment of bizarre personnel to run the government. Personnel is policy. That being the case the American people need to know about these appointments. This week we look another couple of Obama appointees. These are not isolated incidents or an occasional bad apple. These folks are representative of the appointments he is making with little or no push back from the Senate during the confirmation process.
